Re: FIRST NATIONS SCHOOLNET RENEWED
I am pleased to inform you that Keewatin Career Development Corporation - KCDC has recieved word that the First Nations Schoolnet program under Indian & Northern Affairs Canada - INAC has been approved for fiscal year 07-08. This means that we will be able to maintain the school connections currently billed to us and supported by the program.
We would like to recognize the connectivity providers for their cooperation during the last few weeks while we were waiting for confirmation of the program. Schools have seen no disruption of service. We are pleased that we were able to work with the connectivity providers to ensure the students' education was not disrupted.
In addition, we will continue to provide technical support for schools through our Helpdesk, and will continue the Breaking Barriers educational video conference programming.
We look forward to working with the Schools, Bands, Tribal Councils, and Treaty Groups to build on the First Nations Schoolnet program in order to ensure continued progress in the use of IT to support quality education for First Nation students.
Sincerely,
Randy Johns Chief Executive Officer Keewatin Career Development Corporation 1-866-766-7373
