To: Alberta and Saskatchewan Regional Education Contacts (Education Authorities, Tribal Council’s, and Director’s of Education, First Nations Band Administrators, Principal’s, and Technician’s)
Re: Register for a FNS Regional Video Conference
The Regional VC sessions would highlight schools current connectivity and will explain the current network infrastructure (WAN). Lastly, provide information regarding regional Internet Service Provider’s, LAN- local technician’s, LAN- IT contractors, and how FNS fits into this equation and supports technology in school
The meeting objectives are;
• Provide information about current schools current connectivity and WAN infrastructure. Provide summary of all Internet Service Providers available in Region. We will also invite representatives from current Internet Service Providers in regional area. • Provide overview of how FNS help desk works with regional, local technicians and ISP’s to provide technical support to school. Outline the services available from the AB/SK FNS program.
• Update on INAC’s FNS program
Deadline to Register Feb 6th KCDC AB/SK RMO is hosting a total of 22 regional video conferences on a first come first serve basis. Time and date of Regional Video Conference will be set by School Principal hosting session in region. Regional representatives can also participate via teleconference if preferred.
How to Register:
Step 1 – Regional representatives (Education directors, principals, technicians etc…) chose a convenient date/time. Please contact nearest First Nation School’s principal with a video conferencing unit to schedule a convenient date/time for use of the video conferencing unit. Please visit FNS VC Sites to find contact information for FNS participating schools with video conferencing units.
Step 2 – Representative from FNS participating school calls 1-866-766-7373 and registers regional representatives.
Information required to Register; 1. Name of VC Hosting School 2. Name, Email, and Phone # of Contact at School 3. Regional Representatives names and preferred conference connection (telephone/video conferencing unit ) 4. Preferred Connection Date and Time
Dates Available for Regional Video Conference: - Feb 17th – March 6th @ 10:30am-12pm or 3:30pm – 5pm ** If these dates do not work, please call our office to reschedule @ 1-866-766-7373.
